CitizReady
Canadian Citizenship Test Study Guide
A practical Canadian citizenship test study plan covering the five main themes, active practice and official-source checks.
1.Know what you are preparing for
The official Canadian citizenship test is administered by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Requirements and test format can change, so confirm the current IRCC instructions before booking. CitizReady's Canadian practice bank contains 240 published questions, including 20 free questions, with a 45-minute practice session and a 75% practice pass mark.
2.Study the main Canadian themes
Build your plan around history, geography, government and institutions, rights and responsibilities, and symbols and culture. Study one theme at a time, then mix the themes in a practice session so you can recognise facts outside their original order.
3.Practise with explanations
Answer before reading the explanation. After each answer, check why the correct option is right and why the other options are wrong. Keep a short list of recurring mistakes and revisit those questions after a break rather than repeating the same set immediately.
4.Confirm the official rules
Use the official IRCC page for eligibility, documents, appointment details and the current test format. CitizReady is an independent study platform, does not replace government guidance and does not guarantee an official result.
